Indirect Calorimetry
Indirect calorimetry measures the oxygen that the body consumes. Using this measurement it calculates a patient’s Resting Energy Expenditure (REE). This technique is referred to as Indirect Calorimetry and is used for nutritional assessment and medical nutrition therapy.
Indirect calorimetry can be performed in a simple 10 minute breath test. It displays results and provides a printout that is ideal for maintaining records, as well as helping the clinician and patient to understand the results.
